MAKING-CITY through Cecilia Sanz-Montalvillo, new chair of the Board of Coordinatorsof Lighthouse Projects.
Last 16th November MAKING-CITY took the chairing of the Board of Lighthouse projects coordinators, the collaboration group managed by Scalable Cities that leads the relations between the Lighthouse projects. In the meeting hold in Barcelona Smart City Expo, the previous chair (Ernesto Faubel from MAtchUP) transferred the role to Cecilia Sanz-Montalvillo, our coordinator in MAKING-CITY. From then till April 2023 she will be the chair of this group. Focusing the collaboration in the current on-going projects, new ones will be explored to work with during the following months; mainly those with interventions in city districts and deployments on PEDs. The community formed by the Lighthouse projects has shared booth in this Expo with other Smart City initiatives starting their collaboration outside their borders.
The role of Scalable Cities is to identifie and promote solutions and business models that can be scaled up and replicated across Europe and lead to measurable outcomes such as new jobs and energy savings. Scalable Cities represents 120 cities which are involved in 18 Smart Cities and Communitiy projects funded by Horizon 2020 with around 345 million euros. Working in consortia with academia, industry, associations and consultants, they implement more than 550 demonstrations of technological and social innovations in the areas of mobility and logitstics, buildings, urban data and ICT infrastructure, citizen engagement as well as urban governance.

PED-readiness indicator tool
The MAKING-CITY PED-readiness indicator tool (PEDTool) allows cities to quickly and simply assess whether they are ready to develop a Positive Energy District (PED) which helps the city to become climate neutral.

The purpose of the video is to provide viewers with the opportunity to get to know Groningen better as a Lighthouse City, and to show them what Positive Energy Districts looks like in action.

The purpose of the video by the follower city Vidin gives the vision of young people about the future, their interest and opinion as policy makers. Distributed in a local TV, the film is also to popularize Making city project, good collaboration between all of the partners, good practices and of course EU contribution.
MAKING-CITY took part of the Smart city Expo World Congress, Barcelona
More than 20,000 visitors, 800 exhibitors and 130 countries gathered, during the event, the European Commission was able to bring together 28 projects, including MAKING-CITY. MAKING-CITY took part of 3 conference sessions :
