This year got off to a flying star for Cap Digital. The entry into phase V of the cluster involves a new roadmap for Cap Digital, which has been directly involved in 42 European projects since its creation, either as a partner or project coordinator (with a total of 7 projects in 2022), and has built through these projects a very active network of European partners in the digital innovation sectors (230 partners). The strategic objective for the next 4 years is to continue and amplify the European development of our cluster in ambitious projects that enable us to address digital innovation and ecological transition challenges. After the closure of ambitious projects such as AI4Cities, DigiCirc, Dapsi, and DIY4U, 2023 sees the start of new projects around responsible digital issues with CDR Europe, circular economy with Circ-Boost and the continuity of the Making City project, health with EIT Health Catapult and ICC with CREA.
This year, we also bid farewell to Manuella Portier. After 6 years at the head of Cap Digital’s European Affairs, Manuella has decided to fly towards new horizons. We express her our sincere gratitude for her exceptional work and dedication to embark Cap Digital into ambitious and innovative European projects. Thank you Manuella and all the best in your future endeavors !
Manuella has been replaced by Mélanie Pellen, who coordinated the DigiCirc project at Cap Digital for the past 3 years. Congratulations to her and best wishes in your new position!

CIRC-BOOST
We’re pleased to announce that we officially kicked off our new project CIRC-BOOST - Boosting the uptake of circular integrated solutions in construction value chains. CIRC-BOOST is a 4-year project, funded under the Horizon Europe Programme, that focuses on testing and upscaling circular solutions in buildings and the construction sector through five pilot projects deployed in different European regions. The pilots will demonstrate, at large-scale, novel and integrated solutions for demolition, construction waste processing, management, and valorisation in new products.
The overall coordination of the project is carried out by the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC). The role of Cap Digital on this project is to coordinate the French pilot and to connect work package concerning the adoption of integrated solutions in regional and international networks.
Let's have a look at the recap of DIY4U project achievements
After a little less than three years and half, the closing event of our European project DIY4U was held on Friday, 3rd June. All partners had the opportunity to present their results to the Project Officer and reviewers from the European Commission, including the work implemented in the project´s work package, deliverables and milestones reached. DIY4U has succeeded in creating two new Manufacturing Demonstrator Facilities that combine an open innovation digital B2B/B2C platform with digitally enabled manufacturing, which allows the European FMCG supply chain to seamlessly collaborate on the design and testing of products. As a result, personalised products can be delivered in minimal time and at a low cost compared with a conventional large-scale production line.
Thanks to this achievements, the DIY4U project has been invited by the European Commission to present under the 'Success Stories from FoF projects' during the Workshop: FoF and MiE projects: challenges and opportunities.
This solar footpath contributes to the ambition to be CO2 neutral by 2035. It is doubly sustainable, because the solar tiles are made from recycled plastic and double use is made of the space: the solar footpath generates electricity, while it can simply be walked on. The generated power is supplied to the municipality’s office on Harm Buiterplein, making the building more sustainable.
CDR EUROPE our new European project on digital responsibility
The kick-off meeting of CDR Europe, a 4 years project, has been launched in Arezzo on May 3rd-4th. Project partners and stakeholders have been involved in interactive workshops and discussions starting to explore the concept of Corporate Digital Responsability with contributions from Digital Responsability and European Commission Research & Innovation.
